Angeles Forest Highway Rehabilitation Project

The Federal Highway Administration will be administering the construction of the Angeles Forest Highway Road Rehabilitation Project from Angeles Crest Highway to about 1-mile south of Aliso Canyon Road.  The project is funded jointly through a grant from the California Federal Lands Access Program and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.  The scope includes the reconstruction of the existing pavement using a combination of recycled pavement material and new overlay material and the installation of recessed pavement markers and centerline rumble strips to enhance the highway’s nighttime drivability.

The work is tentatively scheduled to start construction in late April or early May 2015 and is expected to take about 7 months to complete.  During construction, through traffic will be limited to one lane of traffic and delays of up to 30-minutes can be expected.  Attached for your information is a fact sheet describing the project, working hours, and truck restrictions.  If you have any questions, please call me at the number below or Ms. Emiko Thompson at (626) 458-7189 or[email protected].

Thank you.
