The Standards of Decorum describe expectations for Council communications and participation at Council meetings.
Speaking at a meeting
- Remain seated and raise your hand, or approach the center podium, and wait to be recognized.
- Once recognized, state your name, city of residence, and the item you wish to address.
- Follow the speaking time listed on the agenda unless the presiding officer grants additional time.
- Address the Council, stay on topic, and avoid personal attacks, threats, and derogatory statements.
- Raise items outside the agenda during the agenda’s Open Forum section.
Check the specific meeting agenda for participation details. To ask about remote participation or accommodations, email atc@actontowncouncil.org.
